AWOL Aetherion Max vs LTV-3500 Pro
AWOL has moved its premium UST lineup from the LTV generation to Aetherion. The company says LTV-3500 Pro has been withdrawn from direct website sale, so this comparison is mainly relevant to existing owners, used-market buyers and shoppers deciding whether the newer platform justifies the change.

The newer platform reduces required throw distance
AWOL lists the move from 0.25:1 to 0.2:1 as a 20% reduction in projection distance. With UST, that can materially change cabinet depth and how far the furniture must sit from the wall. Final placement still depends on the manufacturer’s model-specific geometry, not just the headline throw ratio.
Aetherion expands the large-screen range
AWOL lists the Aetherion generation up to 200 inches versus 150 inches for the LTV comparison. That matters only if the room, screen and brightness can support such a large image. A 200-inch image is a major installation project rather than a simple television replacement.
The contrast and gaming claims are the biggest paper upgrades
AWOL’s support article describes native contrast increasing from 1500:1 to 6000:1 and response dropping from 8 ms to 1 ms, while adding VRR, ALLM and Dolby Vision Gaming. Those are manufacturer claims, not our independent measurements, but they explain the intended positioning of the newer platform.
Used LTV pricing can still change the value equation
Because LTV-3500 Pro is withdrawn from direct sale, used or clearance pricing may be far below a new Aetherion Max. A used-market buyer should factor warranty status, laser hours, return options and the cost of a compatible UST screen into the comparison.
Decision shortcut
For a new premium AWOL installation, the current platform is the relevant baseline. The older LTV remains interesting only when price changes the economics.
