BOOM air review
Editorial note: this is a specification- and documentation-based review. We do not claim hands-on testing or ownership of this projector.
The BOOM air is a portability-first Google TV projector. Its 65W USB-C power support, 2.71 lb weight, native 1080p panel and 1.28:1 throw ratio make it more relevant to bedrooms, travel and outdoor-night setups than to bright-room home theaters.

Where it makes sense
- Portable movie nights and travel setups
- Bedrooms and small rooms with controlled light
- Users who value USB-C power and built-in Google TV over maximum brightness
Important limitations
- 300 ANSI lumens is modest; this is primarily a dark-room or low-ambient-light product.
- Native resolution is 1080p, not 4K; 4K input support does not make the imaging panel 4K.
- The 1.28:1 throw ratio still requires meaningful distance for larger screens.
